Terms and Conditions

By accessing EireBusiness.com, a division of AllEire Ltd., you signify your agreement with and understanding of the following Terms of Use and Legal Information pertaining to both this site and any material within it.

Free Listing Service Terms

Businesses that list themselves on any AllEire Alliance site do so in order to promote themselves. There is never a charge for your listing unless you choose to upgrade to a premier listing. All we require in return is permission to send you no more than one or two promotional messages (via email or fax) per week, from member companies like yours. All our members are protected from spam through responsible marketing activities that strictly limit the number of emails sent per week. We do not sell your information to third-parties.

All unsubscribe requests will be handled as quickly as possible. Please note that opting out (unsubscribing) from emails may cause your business listing to be deleted from the directory.

Legal Notices

The company data displayed on this site, as well as other syndicated sites under our control (including but not limited to www.alleire.ie, www.eirebiz.com, and www.EireBusiness.com) was collected and aggregated in accordance with European Union regulations, and is protected by the laws and regulations of the European Union, Ireland, and the United States, including but not limited to Copyright Laws, the Unfair Data Extraction Act, and the Data Protection Act. The categories used in this site are unique to AllEire Ltd. and are protected under both European and US copyright laws.

Please note that your listing data was originally collected by direct interview with someone at your company, during research conducted from 2002-04 by our partner ReachSoft Ltd., from 2005-07 by EireBusiness (our subsidiary), and in many cases from companies who self-published their own directory data themselves.

Directory data and the directory portal code was originally developed with grant assistance made available to EireBusiness by the South Cork Enterprise Board, funded by the Irish Government and part-financed by the European Union under the National Development Plan, 2000-2006.

Directory data was in all cases purchased or acquired legally, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. All data in the directory is deemed to be commercial (business) data, not private data. Business owners may of course choose to list a home business address or personal contact information.

Requests to be removed from the directory will be honoured, but must be made in writing, on your company letterhead. This is particularly important not only to protect your businesses from fraudulent or unfair competitive practices (such as malicious removal), but also to protect the database, which is our own intellectual property.

Written requests may be conveyed to:

AllEire Ltd.
Macroom E
Environmental Industrial Park
Bowl Road, Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland

Legal and administrative questions should be directed to our legal department, either at the address above, or by using our online contact form.

Our Privacy Policy

EireBusiness.com respects your privacy and we understand that as a visitor to our site you may wish to know why we collect information, what sort of information we collect, how we collect it, and how you can remove, revise, or discuss your privacy with us.

Like most companies, our web site is used for marketing purposes. Encouraging visitors who may be interested in relevant products and services is crucial to eMarketing, and is in fact our core competency. In common marketing parlance, we seek to "drive traffic to our web site." So, like many companies, we engage in advertising and promotional activities that will encourage you to visit us.

In order to know how well our marketing and advertising efforts are working, we employ our own technology to measure the effectiveness of each marketing campaign. If we do a special promotion, mass-mailing, purchase Yahoo or Google keywords, or engage in traditional advertising, we'd like to know whether those advertising euros are worth the investment and how effective the campaign is. So we track response rates of each campaign.

When we do know who we are campaigning to, such as when you register, ask for more information, or we send mass-mail to a mailing list, we want to do an effective job of communicating with you through personalized, one-to-one marketing activities. So we use our technology again to find out which people visited the web site or otherwise showed interest.

Knowing more about the people and companies that may be interested in our products and services, as well as the products and services of our clients, helps us communicate with people who are truly interested in what we have to offer, and this also enables us to know who is not interested. In "marketspeak" this means that we only contact "truly qualified leads." But we prefer to think of it as being polite and not bothering people who aren't interested in what we have to say.

We believe that the best way to communicate with potential customers is to request their permission to be an "opt-in" recipient of information. Permission marketing requires you to register with us, in order to receive newsletters, product announcements, or special offers, according to your interests. One method to develop an opt-in list is to purchase opt-in email lists, but we believe that such lists are often spurious, and so we only use them as a first line of communication, to ask your permission to engage you further.

For some activities, such as receiving an online newsletter, signing up for a subscription, or participating in our provider directory, we may ask you to register with us. These are not explicit marketing activities, and in such cases we require your contact information to send you important system alerts and notifications. You may always indicate a preference to opt out of marketing and sales communications.

For audit purposes, such as validating a business listing, we record the IP address and other identifying information of the user session, for the user that edits the business listing. In this way, if someone makes a fraudulent entry in an attempt to cause harm to ourselves or one of the businesses listed in the directory, we have some user data to share with law enforcement officials.

If you choose to unsubscribe or otherwise remove your information from our list, our system ensures that you are truly opted-out. We give that control to you, because we feel that it is your right to decide who you give permission to contact you. We strive to achieve this level of opt-out compliance and trust among all our customers.

Note that though we make every effort to preserve your privacy, we may need to disclose contact information when required by law, when such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website.

What Information We Collect

You may fill out a contact form on our web site or if you visit from a mass-mail campaign you may discover that we already have your contact information on file. You may update or delete this information yourself.

We may also ask you for subscription preferences so that we may send you information that suits your interests, at the notification frequency that you have selected.

The EireBusiness.com web site(s) also track visitors to specific pages, to see which pages are most popular and what the click-paths are through our site. Anonymous tracking IDs, called cookies, are used to separate out the traffic patterns of individual visitors. We cannot identify you from these cookies. However, if you visit the site from a promotional campaign or register on our web site, you may be identifying yourself, and the pages you visit, through contact information that is already in our database.

Through these means, we may try to determine individual traffic patterns in order to identify qualified sales leads. We do not use our technology to discover personal information about you that we did not already have, other than your path through our web site.

How We Collect Information

We stake our reputation on responsible use of technology such as "cookies" and "web beacons" that help us know who is reading our email and brochures and who is visiting our web site.

Our web site recognizes you by placing a file (cookie) that contains only enough information to identify you upon return visits. A cookie is a small line of text that is stored with your web browser for just this purpose. or example, if you visit a web site that you do business with, such as your bank, credit card company, eBay, or Amazon, the cookie is what enables them to welcome you and know what your preferences are. Your browser may have options to accept, reject, or provide you with notice when a cookie is saved on your computer.
